Question by Jrh88er: Will Dale Earnhardt Jr win the 2010 Sprint Cup Championship?
Everyone is predicting a Jr “run away” with the 2010 Sprint Cup; is this how the season will go? It would bee a huge boost for NASCAR to have its most popular driver win.

there are 43 drivers who have a shot at winning the 2010 sprint cup championship.
although be it some chances are better than others.
i would rank dale jr in the top 12 drivers chances of winning the title
he’s got a much better shot than you do.
the only people predicting JR to win the championship in 2010 are the JR fans that think he’s God and that he’s the best of all time OR its JR fans saying they HOPE he does win the championship but thats NOT the same as saying he will, the real JR fans (like me) know that its not a good chance of him winning the championship ONLY because thats too much of a turn around in so little time, but i do see him in the Chase, i laugh when people (like you and other JR haters) trying to say how good or bad a driver is from just 1 season of racing, if you don’t know but he was a good driver with DEI and in 2008 he also made the Chase with Hendrick, i also laugh when people say he’s the problem, JR isn’t the problem, he used to have the problem of not telling what the problems are but i see that he does that now, so the real problem isn’t JR completely, its still a little bit him because he needs to get the confidence back but the main thing is making the whole 88 team work as a complete unit and figure out who works best with JR, so i laugh when people say JR is the problem because they must not know it takes a lot more people to make a successful team than just the driver, not only do the people on the team have to be good they have to work good together, me personally i think they should try to bring Tony SR as his crew chief
If his luck stays the same then there’s no chance. I love Junior but we all know NASCAR’s golden pussy, Jimmie Johnson, will win it again.

Okay i’m a big Jr fan but he has to win races and prove to himself and his fans that he has what it takes to win the championship.Just because your the most popular driver in the world doesn’t make you god and is going to win you championships.Right now Jr is a good driver just not a great driver like Jimmie Jimmson,Jeff Gordon and etc.Jr can make the chase but a championship is a whole different thing.I hope this year Jr turns it around for the better and once again gives his fans something to look forward to and that’s winning again and maybe in the future a championship.
Well being a HUGE Dale Jr fan I would love to see that, but like most the others said he needs to get back to winning first to win the chase. We all know that he can get in the chase as he did the year before last in his first year with Hendrick. Last year was one of if not the most ridiculously horrible year for any racer I’ve ever seen. Anything that could go wrong did and it happened basically throughout the course of the whole season. I get sick of people who just think that since Jr is at Hendrick that he has the best equipment. Those teams don’t build the same stuff and disperse it out to each individual team. What I’m saying is JJ’s team build all the stuff that goes into his specific car, Jeff Gordon’s team is the same and so is Mark Martin and Dale Jr. They are really four seperate teams within one big orginization and each team has their own builders, with the exception of maybe the engine builders. They may build all the teams engines, but the chassis and body’s and all that stuff are within each specific team. It shows when you look at results. How could anyone say that Jr is in the same equipment as JJ and Gordon or Martin? How many parts failures did all those teams have combined? Probably not as many as Jr had alone. So I get sick of people who don’t know what they are talking about saying that Jr’s in the best equipment and he’s got as good of a shot as the other 3 drivers at Hendrick and his team isn’t a newer team still trying to figure it out. That team is comprised of guys from the old 25 team who was horrible and never won a race, do people not understand this? If everyone was in the same equipment I think Vickers would of won a few races while he was there, but I think he won a race at Talladega and he crashed JJ and Jr to win that one. So I know Jr is a better driver then a 24th place driver, he’s made the chase every year but twice and this team will get straightened out. I don’t live in fantasy land and I watch the races religously, but I don’t think its a stretch for a driver who’s been in the chase before to get back and who knows? If he gets on a role and they get some stuff going, maybe they can make a run for it with a turn in some luck. I know I’ll be rooting for him the whole way and when he does get it turned around all the JR haters that say he sucks and could never drive and he’s riding on his daddy’s shirt tail will have to shut the HELL up. GO 88!!!!!!!!!
Being a die hard Dale Jr fan, first of all he has to bring some major confidence into 2010 starting with Daytona, If he wins the Daytona 500 and has some top 5 finishes the first 5-10 races of the season, then yes he has a shot at it. But, he has to make the chase first, and I think the entire 88 team will bring it this yr, its way to early to even predict a Championship, but I think he will make the chase, but not even me a die hard fan will predict a championship. But it would be super cool.

I don’t think 2010 will be a Championship year for Dale Jr. I think it will be better than 2009 though.
Haha, that is hilarious!!!! That team would need to make a lot of changes! I don’t see it for this season he may work up to a championship but it will be at least 3 years from now. Everyone needs to learn that he is not his father and never will be. He is just not that good!

I like Jr. He’s my favorite driver. But he isn’t his dad He isn’t that good of a driver. He is just popular.
One points win in the last 5 years and couldn’t even break into the top 20 in points in 2009, but he’s going to beat his teammates out for the Cup title. Yeah, right! I think Jr would do well just to finish races in the top 10. Taking the championship is complete fantasy. “Everyone is prediciting a Jr “run away?”" Not anyone I know or have heard talk about Nascar.
