Grandview, MO (PRWEB) October 6, 2006
Four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and current Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup contender Jeff Gordon has brought out the big guns for a series of online auctions that will benefit The Jeff Gordon Foundation. The auctions will give racing fans and collectors the opportunity to own unique pieces of racing history that have rarely before been made available to the general public.
The online auctions are being hosted by GoMotorBids.com, the official online auction house of The Jeff Gordon Foundation and Jeff Gordon, Inc., and include a complete set of “hat dance” caps from Gordon’s first win at Chicagoland Speedway, one of Gordon’s official helmets, and an authentic race-used Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Budweiser firesuit. All of these items are autographed by their respective drivers.
“Our goal with The Jeff Gordon Foundation weekly online auction was to provide unique, one-of-a-kind items that would add something special to the most dedicated fans collection while generating funds to support children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses.” said Jules Moss, Business Development Manager of The Jeff Gordon Foundation. “We were very excited when Dale Earnhardt, Jr. gave us one of his race-used firesuits for the auction. With his firesuit and the race helmet Jeff provided, both the Jeff Gordon and Dale Jr. race fans will be able to bid on their drivers’ hard to acquire items and help children in the process.”
The set of hat dance caps represents racing history, as they were all worn by Gordon during his first visit to the winner’s circle at the Chicagoland Speedway after winning the 2006 USG Sheetrock 400. Most race fans are familiar with the “hat dance”, as it happens in victory lane after every race. The driver and crew members pose for a large number of pictures, changing hats after each shot. The hats feature the logos of all the various sponsors, associate sponsors, and other supporting organizations, and the whole process can sometimes take up to half-an-hour.
“We were really in awe of some of the items that Jeff was willing to auction off.” said Pat Rainey, director of marketing for GoMotorBids.com. “Things like the helmet and uniform usually go to sponsors or team VIP’s, so this is really a wonderful opportunity for fans to bid on a true collectible, while raising money for a great cause at the same time.”
All of The Jeff Gordon Foundation auctions have a starting bid of $ 1. With no minimum reserve price, the highest bidder will win. Each auction item is accompanied by a special Certificate of Authenticity, jointly crafted by Jeff Gordon, Inc. and GoMotorBids.com which has been designed to thwart counterfeiters. For more information and to view the first items up for auction, visit www.GoMotorBids.com.

CARCHEX , the industry-leading provider for Extended Vehicle Protection, today announced a multi-faceted sponsorship agreement with Dale Earnhardt Jr. and JR Motorsports, his racing management enterprise. Earnhardt Jr. will endorse the CARCHEX brand exclusively in the Extended Vehicle Protection category, appearing in advertising, marketing and on the CARCHEX website. And beginning this Saturday, Feb. 13th at Daytona International Speedway, CARCHEX becomes an official sponsor of the No. 88 Chevrolet for the 2010 NASCAR Nationwide Series events.
“The key for me in endorsing CARCHEX was the credibility, track record, and strong reputation that the brand has established,” said Earnhardt Jr. “I’m proud to begin what I hope is a long and mutually successful relationship with CARCHEX.”
Said CARCHEX CEO Jason Goldsmith, “Dale Earnhardt Jr. is the biggest name in motorsports and we are thrilled to earn his endorsement as CARCHEX continues to distinguish itself as the gold standard in a fast-growing industry. Dale Jr. joins the growing list of top automotive brands like Carfax , Kelley Blue Book , and LendingTree Autos who have partnered with CARCHEX and believe in the value that CARCHEX brings to consumers.”
As an associate sponsor of the No. 88 Chevrolet, the CARCHEX brand will appear on the vehicle and other properties, such as team haulers and uniforms during Nationwide Series Race events. The No. 88 Chevrolet will most often be driven by rising star Kelly Bires, while Earnhardt Jr. will also drive the No. 88 Chevy for select Nationwide Series events, including this week’s race at Daytona International Speedway.
“We are excited to add CARCHEX to the JR Motorsports family,” said Kelley Earnhardt, GM and co-owner of JR Motorsports. “We’ve done our homework and believe in the CARCHEX brand as the best in its industry.”
With its decade-long commitment to customer service and integrity, CARCHEX has earned an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. The company will continue its existing, successful relationship with spokesman Pat Goss, America’s trusted mechanic and segment host on TV’s MotorWeek.
“With Dale Jr.’s massive popularity and Pat’s credibility as a master technician, CARCHEX has put together an amazing 1-2 punch in endorsement relationships,” Goldsmith added. “By delivering on our brand promise of ‘customer experience above all’ CARCHEX has attracted the best partners in our industry.”
