The Dale Jr. Foundation held their first Dale Jr. Day yesterday, October 18th, at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. With the help of the NASCAR Racing Experience, fans purchased the opportunity ride laps with NASCAR driver Dale Jr. or get behind the wheel themselves! The day started with a Q&A session and photos with Dale Jr. at the Media Center and ended at the track. An anonymous donor gifted a ride to Make-A-Wish kid, Dyllan Ford from Mooresboro NC. It was a special day for 9-year-old Dyllan who gave watchers a thumbs up as he took off with Dale Jr. in the No. 88 Amp Energy/National Guard Chevrolet! A lot of memories were made yesterday and the funds raised will help some of the many charities that The Dale Jr. Foundation supports like Blessings in a Backpack, Speedway Children’s Charities, Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte and many more.

Question by Physics Phreak: Do Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon resent that Junior gets all the hype and attention?
Rick Hendrick declared “I will pull out all the stops for Dale Earnhardt Jr,” NASCAR’s leadership has decried that “the reason for lagging TV ratings and ticket sales is directly related to the performance of Dale Jr.”

Sports Illustrated has stated that NASCAR cannot survive another chase without Junior. It is all Junior all the time.

How to the two “four times” deal with all that hype, and do they resent it being used on a guy with only 18 wins?

I would guess they love the hype he gets as its less focus on them. They should thank Jr if anything. And please cite the article that you have quoted or I’m calling bullsh*t.

On Lap 244, Dale Earnhardt Jr. moves Joe Bessey out of the way. After saying he would on the radio, NASCAR penalizes him 1 lap ending his chance at the win. THANKS TO CBS SPORTS AND NASCAR IMAGES
